Documentary Weddings — Storytelling & Candid Wedding Photographer Glasgow & Scotland
Storytelling & authentic moments across Glasgow & Scotland
Watch · Wait · Witness
Seen · Felt · Kept
A wedding tells its own story. My role is simply to follow it — capturing authentic, unscripted moments through documentary wedding photography in Glasgow, Edinburgh and across Scotland.
The room, the mood, the quiet seconds between the loud ones — some moments announce themselves. Others you only catch if you already know they're coming. I know the difference. All of it ends up in the work.
I photograph a small number of weddings each year to give every couple full dedication.

Love Stories
from Past Clients
“We are absolutely over the moon with our photos - we love them so much and they mean everything to us. You were so low-key and calm on our wedding day, which made such a huge difference. Having you there to capture everything was perfect. We had this gut feeling that you'd deliver something amazing, but honestly, this is even better than we hoped for. Our families are obsessed with the photos too. Thank you so much for all the incredible work you put into making our special day unforgettable.”

WHAT YOU'LL NOTICE
The presence. The care. The ease.
Discreet
Your day runs as your day. I follow it, never lead it. By the end, most couples tell me they forgot I was there. Their photographs say something different.
Craft
Documentary in soul. Editorial in finish. Story, light, frame — every element considered before the shutter moves. The photographs are both technically excellent and emotionally honest.
Calm
A calm presence changes a room. Nerves settle. Laughter comes more easily. The day feels lighter. When people are truly at ease, that's when the photographs become something else entirely.
DOCUMENTARY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER GLASGOW
Your Glasgow Wedding Should Feel Completely Yours. No Staged Poses. No Fake Smiles.
Not for every couple. Exactly right for some.
I work around your day — alert to everything, reactive to nothing. The camera becomes invisible. Through relaxed documentary wedding photography in Glasgow and across Scotland, the photographs come from the real things — the ones made for the moment, not the lens. The ones that last are always the honest ones.
People feel it when someone is genuinely happy to be somewhere. A calm settles. Nerves soften. Laughter comes easier. And when people are truly at ease — that's when natural, unposed wedding photographs become something else entirely.
Years of weddings. The instinct doesn't leave.
“You were so low-key and calm on our wedding day, which made such a huge difference. Honestly, this is even better than we hoped for.”

Wedding Photography — Questions & Answers
Everything worth knowing before you get in touch
Documentary wedding photography (often called photojournalism or candid photography) is focused on telling the real story of your day as it unfolds naturally in Glasgow and across Scotland.
Rather than orchestrating poses or staging moments, I observe quietly, capturing authentic emotions, unscripted interactions, and genuine atmosphere.
Absolutely. In fact, documentary wedding photography is ideal for camera-shy couples in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Because there is no awkward posing, constant direction, or forced smiles, you can forget about the camera entirely and enjoy your wedding day with your guests.
Documentary in soul, editorial in finish. As a documentary wedding photographer in Glasgow and across Scotland, I follow your day rather than direct it — reading the room, anticipating moments, and letting things unfold. The photographs feel honest because they are. Nothing is posed that didn't want to be.
A retainer of £400 holds your date while everything else falls into place. The remaining balance is due 6–8 weeks before your wedding. No financial pressure on the day itself.
Most couples book 12–18 months ahead, particularly for weekend dates in spring and summer across Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Scotland. If your date is closer, get in touch anyway — I'll always tell you honestly whether I'm available.
You won't be directing any of it. I arrive early, read the room, and begin capturing relaxed, candid moments. There's no interrupting moments for set-up shots, no gathering people unless you want family photographs. The day runs as your day. I follow it.
The full edited gallery of high-resolution digital wedding photographs is delivered within 8 weeks — private, password-protected, shareable with anyone you choose. Editing is a deliberate process and the time reflects that. Most galleries arrive before the 8 weeks are up.
Happy to do them — most couples want a few. I'd suggest keeping combinations to around seven. Every minute in a group photograph is a minute away from the candid moments that can't be planned. I'll send you a simple guide beforehand so the whole thing is done quickly — and we can get back to the day.
Yes — and I'd encourage it. Get in touch with a few details about your day and I'll share a curated selection of full wedding galleries that give you a real sense of how a full wedding comes together, not just the highlight moments. The more I know about your day, the more relevant what I can show you.
Yes. Happy to look over it and flag anything that might affect the photographs — where the light will be during your ceremony, when golden hour hits in Scotland, and how long family photographs realistically take. A good timeline protects the day for everyone.
Wear something that feels genuinely like you — comfortable, familiar, nothing you'd be self-conscious in. Avoid bold patterns or logos that might feel dated in five years. Bring a second outfit if you want variety for your pre-wedding photo shoot. The session works best when you're relaxed, so don't overthink it.
Yes, absolutely. While I am based in Glasgow as a Scottish documentary wedding photographer, I travel regularly for destination weddings across the UK, Europe, and worldwide.
