Let me introduce myself
In Lexi Studio is a documentary wedding photography practice founded by Alex, based in Glasgow, Scotland. Specialising in documentary-meets-editorial wedding photography across Scotland and internationally.
Curiosity came first.
The camera came later.
I came to photography through a degree but arrived at it through everything else first. Growing up between cultures, working with people, playing music, swimming in open water. The camera made sense of all of it.
Years of being around people — really paying attention to them — built an instinct for what happens just before a moment does. That instinct is the foundation of everything I shoot.
My journey has shaped how I see the world through my lens. Working in social settings gave me an intuition for human connection — and the quiet ability to anticipate what's coming next.

From North Africa
to the Heart of Scotland
Born in Poland. Raised in Algeria. Both formed me long before I picked up a camera.
Algeria came first — the light did. Intense, directional, casting the kind of shadows Caravaggio built his whole visual world from. Poland gave me the rest: painting properly — Caravaggio again, Dalí, Van Gogh — then cinema: Lynch at exactly the right age. Kubrick soon after. All pointing toward the same understanding: that emotion is the point, and real is more powerful than beautiful.
Photography arrived at exactly the right time. What began as a discovery became a creative sanctuary, the thing that made sense of everything that came before it. Scotland is where I studied, graduated, and stayed — the light had something to do with it.
I heard Lynch say it once, and it stayed: the purpose of creating is to evoke emotion. The feeling is what matters. Meyerowitz put it differently — instinct and curiosity are the photographer's greatest allies. I've found nothing to argue with either of them.

Living Fully
Movement
Years on the water — windsurfing, sailing, open water — teach patience in conditions you can't control. That transfers directly to a wedding day.
Language
A fascination with language — spoken and visual. French, Arabic, Spanish. Every language is a different way of seeing the world. The curiosity that drives me toward a new language is the same curiosity I bring to every room I photograph.
Mindfulness
Qigong. Gulun Kung Fu. Meditation — daily. Clarity of mind shows up as clarity of eye. The practice doesn't separate from the photography.

Passion & Purpose
What actually drives this.
What excites me most about my work? Witnessing how it makes a real difference in people's lives — that moment when I realise something I created brought genuine joy or value to someone else. That's what truly energises this every single day.
The moment someone sees their photographs and is taken back to exactly how it felt. The moment they say "I forgot that happened" and the photograph remembered it for them.
My endless curiosity about people and their unique stories continues to be my greatest source of creative inspiration. I've found that when the work comes from genuine attention and care — with authentic joy and presence — it shines through in everything I create.

When I'm not shooting
Mountain trails whenever I can. Somewhere behind a drum kit with close friends when the week's been long — playing in the band gives me deep relaxation, rhythm, and the quiet of not thinking about anything else for a while.
Travel draws me the same way photography does. I'm drawn not just to landscapes but to how people live within them — the conversations with locals, the quiet moments watching life unfold in unfamiliar places, the connection that happens through the universal language of music when words run out.
A daily practice keeps everything else in order. All of it feeds into the same capacity — the ability to be truly present. Which, when it comes to it, is the only skill that actually matters when you're photographing someone's wedding.
